Aquor Inlet Product Overview

Aquor’s inlets complete the connection between our hydrants and your plumbing—there are a variety of inlets available for different plumbing setups.

All inlets are composed of 100% stainless steel and can be attached to nearly all hydrant models (ground hydrant excluded). Continue reading to find out which inlet is best for you!

½” NPT Straight Inlet

Aquor 1/2" NPT Straight Inlet

A standard ½” NPT inlet. Included in every base hydrant kit. Use with copper or PVC plumbing.

¾” NPT Straight Inlet

3/4" NPT Straight Inlet

A standard ¾” NPT inlet for ¾” plumbing. Use with copper or PVC plumbing.

A note on flow rate: Flow rate will decrease slightly with ½" vs. ¾" plumbing. However, this should not be an issue if your water pressure is within the suggested range of 40-80 PSI. Learn more about water pressure here.

Aquor Terminology

NPT - National Pipe Taper. The metal-to-metal contact in NPT fittings relies on the deformation of the threads to form a secure seal. Unlike straight threads, tapered threads provide a more reliable seal, especially when used with a sealant material like Teflon tape.

PEXPEX, short for cross-linked polyethylene, is a flexible plastic used for plumbing. The tubing has become quite popular over the years, replacing traditional copper and galvanized steel water supply lines. Homeowners can easily pick up PEX tubing from their local hardware store (or order it online) and complete DIY project upgrades or replace leaking pipes without having a plumber come out. PEX is utilized in over 60 percent of new construction residential water systems—a notable jump in use since its arrival in the US during the 1980s.
