1: Remove Existing Inlet

Remove existing inlet by unscrewing counterclockwise. Ensure the O-ring on the Hydrant body is properly seated.

Note: DO NOT use Teflon tape on hydrant body threads. This may cause leaks. Only use Teflon tape on plumbing connection (fitting) threads.

2: Hand Tighten New Inlet

Hand tighten new inlet onto Hydrant body by threading clockwise. For elbow inlets, rotate counterclockwise until the inlet is positioned in the correct direction for installation. The O-ring will keep a watertight seal up to 360° from full lock, up to 250 PSI.

3: Connect to Plumbing

Connect to plumbing, then check for leaks and test Hydrant operation.

For PEX joints, wait 10 minutes for it to shrink down and set before turning on the water.

If possible, use a PEX expansion loop for easy plumbing maintenance down the road.

PEX Elbow

Unable to use copper pipe directly into the hydrant. Made the installation very easy, and no leaks!

Pex-expansion adapter

Received the pex-expansion adapter quickly, hand tightened as instructed, turned on the water supply and…no leaks! Works great! Wish there was an option to order the hydrant with the pex-expansion connection included instead of buying an additional piece. Satisfied overall.

Perfect fit for tight spaces

This works perfectly when you really have a tight space to work with and you want to conceal in the drywall.

Great for attaching water lines in tight spaces, but measure carefully!

The unusual construction of my house exterior wall did not permit running a water supply line in a straight line with the stem of the house hydrant. I needed to run a line to the stem at a right angle. Since I am not using copper pipe with sweat joints, I elected to use a push-to-connect connector with NPT threads on the other end to connect to the inlet. After preparing and screwing in the NPT into the inlet, I only had to push to connect the line to the other end of the NPT, and it works great. The inlet can be adjusted (if turned less than one turn) to align the inlet with the incoming water line. This makes installation so much easier.

But ensure you measure properly, compensating for depth of the angled base of the debris cover, the mounting plate, and the change in length of the stem when the standard inlet is removed and the elbow inlet is installed. The measurements will be different than the regular thickness of your wall, and the length to the inside edge of the elbow inlet will be shorter than the listed length of the stem.

(AND THE CUSTOMER SERVICE IS GREAT!!!)

PEX crimp

Works great. A definite must for PEX pipe install. Keeps you from having a extra point for a leak, and makes a nice clean install.
