Opted to get an additional connector with flow control to have better management of how much water comes out the hose. This does the trick. This is a tough polymer-based material. Even still, I intend to keep this out of the intense Texas sun when not in use.
You may want to order a few different depths of these to have on hand for your installer and then send back what you don’t end up using. Aquor’s return process is excellent.
In some cases you may need a standoff mounting box like this, depending on your wall construction material and thickness. The 3" depth looks great and is unobtrusive.
Ended up choosing the brushed stainless steel cover version of this to withstand the insane Texas summer sun.
Even though V2+ is mostly advertised as meant for new construction, you can absolutely use these as a retrofit; you just need to open up your wall from inside the house to tear out your old bin and connect this new one.
Definitely recommend you find a YouTube install video for your plumber as these are not particularly common to most plumbers. Our plumber was impressed with the ingenious design and quality materials though.
We had three of these installed at my sister-in-law’s home in south Texas. After buying and returning several different sizes of the V2+ hydrant, we finally got all three installed and they are AWESOME!
Finding a plumber to install them was tricky as Aquor doesn’t really have an extensive network of installers recommended but we lucked out with a great plumber and even he was impressed with how well these are designed.
Aquor sells a bunch of pipe adapters depending on your wall depth and pipe material. These are 1000% better than traditional hose bibs.
Aquor really is the “Apple” of faucet hydrants bibs. Just go for it, it’s just such a nice architectural detail and convenience to have.
