What is an Aquor House Hydrant?
Aquor is a better outdoor faucet.
In 2014 we reimagined the outdoor faucet and created the Aquor House Hydrant. Aquor hydrants save you time and water with easy, quick-connections that give you instant water access.
Aquor hydrants are unique because we use 100% 316L stainless steel, which provides better freeze protection than brass. Our hydrants seal using water pressure, eliminating typical excess wear and tear.
Read more about Aquor’s mission and why our products are different.
What problems are we solving?
7x better freeze protection than brass
- Aquor hydrants are composed of precision-cast stainless steel, which provide better insulation than brass. They automatically drain, seal, and winterize. Enjoy a burst-free winter without that ugly foam cover.
100% lead-free & eco-friendly
- All our hydrants are non-toxic, 100% lead-free, and drinking water safe. Aquor uses corrosion resistant stainless steel and durable polymers that will last a lifetime.
Leak-free, hassle-free connections
- Easy on hands and joints, enjoy instant water access with a simple push and twist. Reliable leak-proof design saves homeowners water and money over time.
Flush-mount installation
- Aquor hydrants are low-profile and compatible with any siding type. Never trip over your spigot again. Hose Connector acts as a tamper-resistant “key.”
Superior engineering & high-quality materials
- Aquor is the only company that uses 100% rust and corrosion resistant 316L stainless steel, O-rings that last for 150,000+ cycles of use, and crush-resistant acetal resin.
How do I use an Aquor hydrant?
Ease of use was a top priority when designing our system. Our hydrants are always pressurized—all you need to do is plug in your connector for instant water access.

1) Before connecting, attach the hose connector to your garden hose. For convenience, add a connector to every hose you use and leave connected.
2) Connect with a simple push and twist. Align the 3 grooves on the connector with the nibs on the hydrant. Gently push in, then turn clockwise to connect. This opens the valve and water flow starts instantly.
3)Disconnect to drain and winterize your Aquor hydrant. Simultaneously push in the connector and turn counterclockwise. Your hydrant will drain and winterize automatically. We recommend storing your connector and hose out of the elements.
It’s best to unplug your connector from the hydrant after use during the colder months. This ensures your hydrant drains properly and doesn’t leave any residual water behind in your pipes that may freeze. Make sure to depressurize your hose after each use.
What is the difference between the V1+ and V2+ hydrants?

Good question! We have two models for residential wall applications. The House Hydrant V1+ and our House Hydrant V2+. The main difference between the V1+ and the V2+ hydrants is the location of the vacuum breaker and the size of the entry hole.
Vacuum breakers help prevent the backflow of dirty water into your home's water supply, which is why they are required in the United States for new construction. Learn more about vacuum breakers.
On the V1+ Hydrant, the vacuum breaker is located within the connector. While on the V2+ Hydrant, the vacuum breaker is built into the hydrant faceplate. Both Hydrants are 1019 ASSE certified, meaning they are safe for new construction within the United States.
We recommend the V1+ Hydrant for retrofit installations because of the smaller entry hole, making it easier to replace an existing hose bib.
The V2+ Hydrant on the other hand, was designed for new construction and has an oval entry hole.
Is Aquor frost-free?

Yes! Aquor hydrants are precision-cast from 316L stainless steel, making them 7x better at insulating than brass. Our hydrants automatically seal, drain, and winterize upon disconnection, so you never have to worry about freezing or bursting pipes again! Throw away that ugly old foam cover and relax when it gets cold outside.
Read more about why Aquor products are better.
Can I use an Aquor hydrant without a hose connector?
No, the hose connector acts as a tamper-resistant “key.” You can only access water instantly with an Aquor hose connector.
Unlike traditional hand-tightened assemblies, Aquor hydrants seal using water pressure. When the connector is unplugged, the valve closes in the same direction as the water flow, creating an ultra-reliable seal.
Our connectors are built to last, with O-rings tested for 150,000+ cycles of use and crush-resistant acetal resin. We recommend leaving your hose connector attached to your hose, just be sure to depressurize your hose.
We offer a variety of connectors in different colors.
What is a vacuum breaker and do I need one?
A vacuum breaker prevents the backflow of dirty water into your home's water supply. They are required for all frost-free hose bibs in the United States per ASSE code 1019. Read more about vacuum breakers.
Do you need a vacuum breaker on your home? Plumbing codes vary, so check your local codes. If you're retrofitting or remodeling, you might not be required to have one. Most new construction homes require vacuum breakers.
Another thing to consider is your risk level. If you're filling buckets with chemicals, you'll want backflow protection. If you're using a spray nozzle or only using potable water, there's not much risk of contamination.

Both our House Hydrant V1+ and V2+ kits meet plumbing code requirements for vacuum breaker protection, as well as our Comfort Grip VB Hose Connector, Vacuum Breaker Hose Connector, and Wide Grip VB Hose Connector.

Can I install Aquor myself, or do I need a plumber?
You can absolutely install Aquor yourself! It is a relatively simple DIY project, you just need access to your plumbing.
The installation process is very similar to that of a standard brass hose bib. Although, the exact process will depend on your home’s siding type and plumbing. The House Hydrant has a universal 1/2” NPT rear inlet, so nearly any type of plumbing adapter can be fitted. We offer additional inlets and mounting solutions to ease the installation process.
For an easy installation, you can find install guides and videos on our product pages and our YouTube channel as well as additional installation tips on our blog.

What materials are Aquor products made of?

At Aquor, we manufacture products that are built to last. We use 316L stainless steel, Delrin® acetal resin, and Viton® O-rings.
316L Marine-Grade Stainless Steel
Aquor uses 100% marine-grade stainless steel because it provides incredible freeze protection, extreme corrosion-resistance, durability, has a long lifespan, and is 100% lead-free. Stainless steel is also one of the most sustainable building materials—it lasts decades, is 100% recyclable, and does not produce toxic byproducts during manufacturing. Stainless steel is safe for the environment, manufacturers, and consumers.
Read more about what makes stainless steel so great.
Delrin® Acetal Resin
Delrin®, also known as acetal resin, is an engineered thermoplastic used in precision parts requiring high wear resistance. We use acetal resin to manufacture our Aquor connectors which can withstand 200+ lbs of lateral force, so they won’t break if you tug on them. They are also wear resistant and UV protected.
Read more about the durability of Delrin®.
Viton® O-Rings
Viton® O-rings have proved to be a dependable seal for decades. They are extremely durable, have a wide temperature range of use, and are resistant to aging. We’ve tested the O-rings on our products to withstand 150,000+ cycles of use.
What does it mean to have back flow protection?

In order to have backflow protection you’ll need a backflow prevention device. Backflow prevention devices are used to prevent the backflow of dirty water into your home’s water supply, ensuring that water only flows in one direction.
Vacuum breakers and check valves are both examples of backflow prevention devices that are built into Aquor products.
The Comfort Grip VB Hose Connector, Vacuum Breaker Hose Connector, Wide Grip VB Hose Connector, and the House Hydrant V2+ all have a built in vacuum breaker.
Whereas the Angled Hose Connector and Straight Hose Connector have built in check valves.
Vacuum breakers are required for all frost-free hose bibs in the United States per ASSE code 1019. Read more about vacuum breakers. Plumbing codes vary, so check your local codes to see what products you’ll need. If you're retrofitting or remodeling, you may not be required to have a vacuum breaker. Most new construction homes require vacuum breakers.

How do I know what stem length I should purchase?
Our Hydrants are consistent with industry standard sizing. In order to properly size your Hydrant, you will need to know your type of siding and depth of framing. Then you can use our stem length guides to decide on a size.
Determine if your plumbing will be in-wall (within a wall cavity/between the exterior sheathing and interior sheet rock) or through-wall (penetrating through the siding, interior wall and into an open cavity like a crawl space or basement ceiling. This can also be in a perpendicular wall cavity).
Depending on your exterior siding, you may have to opt for a longer stem length. For siding that extends more than 2 3/4" off the framing or further, consider choosing the next longest size.
Check out our stem length guide to determine which hydrant length will be best for your project.

What is the difference between all of the connectors?
Aquor Hose Connectors are made of crush-resistant Delrin® acetal resin and Viton® O-rings tested for 150,000+ cycles of use.

We recommend pairing our vacuum breaker connectors with the House Hydrant V1+ for code approved backflow protection and a connector without a vacuum breaker for all other hydrants. The removable faucet connector works best for incoming water with the RV City Water Inlet, since it doesn’t have a check valve.
Read the full Connector Product Overview here.
What is a vacuum breaker and do I need one?
Vacuum breakers work as a backflow preventer or anti-siphon to prevent any sitting water in your hose or outside from flowing backwards into your home.
Whether or not you need a vacuum breaker will depend on your local municipality. For more information, check out this blog article.
Will the hose connector break or wear out?
Our connectors are built to last with Viton® O-rings and crush-resistant acetal resin.
Viton® O-rings have proved to be a dependable seal for decades. They are extremely durable, have a wide temperature range of use, and are wear resistant. We’ve tested the O-rings on our products to withstand 150,000+ cycles of use.
Delrin®, also known as acetal resin, is an engineered thermoplastic used in precision parts requiring high wear resistance. We use acetal resin to manufacture our Aquor connectors, which can withstand 200+ lbs of lateral force, so they won’t break if you tug on them. They are also wear resistant and UV protected.

Can I install Aquor hydrants vertically?
Some of them!
If you are looking for a hydrant to install vertically, try our Universal Hydrant.
Our Ground Hydrant systems are also intended to be installed vertically and have an additional feature that drains the system to prevent freezing.
We advise that you keep your House Hydrants mounted horizontally in walls, especially the House Hydrant V2+.
How do I install for incoming water?
If you want to use a hydrant as an in-fill valve for water, we recommend using our RV City Water Inlet.
Do you have any recommendations for plumbers in my area?
Yup! Check out our PRO Installer Network for a list of our recommended plumbers.
Can I install a hydrant without a cover?
We don’t recommend installing a hydrant without a cover.
The wedge on the cover provides a 5° incline of the stem to ensure proper drainage and winterization. Without the cover, your hydrant won’t drain properly.
Installing your hydrant with the cover will also help keep out dirt and debris.
How do I replace my hydrant cover?

1.) Remove the existing cover by releasing hydrant mounting screws. There is no need to shut off the water supply. Do not disconnect from plumbing.

2.) Slide the existing cover up to remove. The new cover must be installed behind the hydrant faceplate. Note the 5° wedge angles the hydrant downward for drainage.

3.) Replace mounting screws to secure assembly to wall.

4.) Check cover alignment and operation. Adjust friction hinge if needed.
For a more detailed guide, take a look at our blog post.
For more cover options, please visit this page.
Maintenance & Troubleshooting
Does my hydrant need regular maintenance?
Unlike a traditional spigot, Aquor House Hydrants use water pressure to seal and keep their valve closed. The elimination of a standard rotating valve prevents excess wear and tear, resulting in a longer lasting hydrant that doesn't need additional maintenance.
Should you ever need to service your hydrant, it can be done through the back inlet. We recommend installing your House Hydrant with a loop of PEX tubing attached to the rear inlet when possible. This will allow you to easily access and service the back inlet.
Can I leave my hydrant connected year round?
We don’t recommend leaving your connector plugged into your hydrant year round.
If you leave your connector plugged into your hydrant, the hydrant won’t be able to drain and winterize properly, which will most likely result in a broken connector.
It’s best to unplug your connector from the hydrant after use and depressurize your hose, especially during the colder months. This ensures your hydrant drains properly and doesn’t leave any residual water behind in your pipes that may freeze. You can however leave your connector attached to your garden hose.
What should I do if I lose the hose connector?
While we don’t recommend staying connected to your hydrant year round, we do recommend that you keep your connector attached to your garden hose to avoid misplacing it. However, accidents happen! In the off chance that you do lose a connector we have several available for purchase on our website.
Do you offer spare parts?
Yes! We have vacuum breaker replacements for our V2+ House Hydrant, stem replacements, hydrant screw replacements and O-ring replacements available.
Our customer service hours are Monday - Friday from 9 AM - 4 PM PST. Give us a call (800)458-1749, email contact@aquorwatersystems.com, or chat with us below, and we will be happy to assist you.
How do I replace connector O-rings?
How do I replace the hydrant vacuum breaker?

1.) Use a pair of needle-nose pliers to gently remove the vacuum-breaker cover. Be gentle when unscrewing the vacuum-breaker cover. If you have trouble removing it, we have a custom removal tool available for purchase.
2.) If you don’t see a black washer facing you, chances are the vacuum-breaker has been installed incorrectly or is missing.

3.) Gently unscrew the retainer (the round white part) with an allen wrench or needle-nose pliers. If you are a plumber or working on a high-value project, we have a custom removal tool available specifically for the V2+ vacuum-breaker.

4.) Inspect the vacuum-breaker assembly. Note the position and orientation of each part according to the diagram above. If any parts are missing, contact us for replacements. If all parts are present and appear to be in good working condition, but the problem persists, please contact us for support.

5.) Re-Assemble, make sure to not over-tighten the retainer or cover.

My hydrant is leaking what should I do?
We apologize for any inconvenience and will work with you to come up with a solution.
The fastest way to fix a leak is to contact us (800)458-1749 to speak with an Aquor representative. In the meantime try checking the below.
1.) Are you dealing with a leak from the connection between your hydrant and the plumbing?
- Did you apply 3-5 wraps of teflon tape?
- Did you tighten down the adapter piece that connects to the rear valve of your hydrant?
- If the leak persists please contact us directly.
2.) Are you dealing with a leak when engaging your connector with the hydrant?
- If you have a V2 or V2+ the vacuum breaker valve may be causing water to flow out incorrectly.
- Watch this video to see if the vacuum breaker is oriented in the right direction.
3.) Are you getting a leak when the hydrant is not engaged?
- The internal valve of the hydrant is not seating correctly, which may be caused by debris or damage to the O-ring. Cycle the hydrant on/off 5-10 times to see if the leak stops.
- If the hydrant continues to leak please call us directly.
No water is flowing through my hydrant, what should I do?
This should be an easy fix!
The one way check valve in your connector is jammed. Use a pen or similar object to take the object and push down from the O-ring side of the connector until you can get some movement from the check valve.
If you can't get the valve to move please give us a call (800)458-1749. Our customer service hours are Monday - Friday from 9 AM - 4 PM PST. You can also email us contact@aquorwatersystems.com, or chat with us below, and we will be happy to assist you.
What do I do when the hydrant is dripping?
A little bit of drainage is normal when you disconnect and no cause for concern.
If your hydrant has a persistent drip or leak, first check your connector to make sure both o-rings are intact with no tears or obvious stretching.
If your connector is in proper shape, identify when the hydrant is leaking. If it is leaking when it is connected, this is commonly an issue with the connector or the vacuum breaker (on V2+ Models).
If the hydrant is leaking when disconnected, this is most likely an issue with debris being stuck or an issue with the operating rod. Cycle the hydrant by plugging it in and unplugging it to dislodge any debris or hard water buildup.
If the leak persists, give us a call (800)458-1749, email contact@aquorwatersystems.com, or chat with us below, and we will be happy to assist you. Our customer service hours are Monday - Friday from 9 AM - 4 PM PST.
I can’t get the hydrant to pass inspection, what should I do?
If you’re having trouble passing your inspection give us a call (800)458-1749, email contact@aquorwatersystems.com, or chat with us below, and we will be happy to assist you. Our customer service hours are Monday - Friday from 9 AM - 4 PM PST.
Will installing an Aquor hydrant cause my water pressure to change?
Any change in water pressure will depend on the piping, if you have a 3/4” diameter pipe, there might be a slight reduction in pressure.
