Project Highlights: Armoniosa Showhouse
The minimalist 10,000 square foot Armoniosa Showhouse was constructed keeping Passive Home building concepts and energy efficiency in mind while focusing on modern luxury—the Aquor House Hydrant V2 is just one of many standout details.
The Las Vegas, Nevada home was presented to over 650 industry professionals during the 2020 International Builders Show, the Kitchen & Bath Industry Show, and the Winter Las Vegas Market.
Located in the Las Vegas Historic District, the estate features sparkling glass walls, a pool and reflection water ponds, along with “rusted” steel accents that tie in with the native desert plants artfully arranged across the two acre property.
The easily accessible pool is a dazzling focal point.
Armoniosa, or harmonious, is a suitable name for the home which blends into the landscape and makes the transition between indoors and out impressively fluid.
The five bedroom, 3.5 bathroom house, equipped with a chef’s kitchen, two hobby rooms, fitness center, and guest house, was designed by architect Richard Cuen, AIA, and constructed by Dane Isenmann Builders. KNB Associates worked with the design team and homeowners to incorporate products of the highest quality.
Cuen, AIA, designed an exceptionally efficient, well-performing home based on the Passive House movement and the guiding principles of modern building science.
Cuen says, “We succeeded in creating a design that brings the outdoors in, with soaring walls of glass extensively throughout, providing beautiful views of the 2-acre lot from every room.”
Passive house windows, generous roof overhangs, and exterior venetian blinds capable of tracking the sun make the spacious home both comfortable and energy efficient.
The insulation and air tightness of the building envelope aid Armoniosa’s energy efficiency, along with sixty solar panels and multiple batteries that provide power year round. Can you spot the Aquor House Hydrant V2?
The gorgeous contemporary kitchen encourages entertaining, featuring sleek matte grey German engineered cabinetry, flush column refrigeration, Statuario Gloss Porcelain countertops, and an induction cooktop centrally located on the island. The tile and stone surface materials were all sourced from a single supplier, allowing simplified selection, ordering, and delivery.
Donna Moss, HGTV personality and designer, executed the interior design along with the former national president of the Interior Design Society, Kimberly Joi McDonald. Moss and McDonald aimed to create a sophisticated, modern, and tranquil space while embodying the bold flair that Las Vegas is known for.
The duo successfully designed the interior to represent a distinctive Las Vegas showhouse and were able to remain true to the environmentally-conscious, sustainable principles that the homeowners value.
Armoniosa received rave reviews from visitors who toured the modern residence grounds; attendees fell in love with the serene architecture, well-thought-out design, and meticulous attention to detail.
